Junior Accountant - Bengaluru

Are you a detail-oriented and motivated individual looking to launch your career in corporate finance? We are seeking a proactive Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Bengaluru. This role offers hands-on experience in fundamental accounting practices, compliance, and financial reporting, providing a solid foundation for your professional development.

Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for providing essential support to the finance department, reporting directly to the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager. Key tasks include daily bookkeeping, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end closing procedures. This is a salaried full-time contract-to-potential-hire position, requiring on-site work at our Bengaluru location.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Processing and verifying invoices, expense reports, and payment requests; assisting in tracking customer payments and managing aging reports.

  • Performing accurate and timely data entry into the accounting software (e.g., Tally, EazyERP).

  • Assisting in the monthly reconciliation of bank statements, credit card accounts, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy.

  • Supporting the timely execution of month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and compiling financial data.

  • Ensuring financial transactions are recorded in compliance with company policies, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/Indian GAAP), and relevant statutory requirements (e.g., GST, TDS).

  • Assisting in the preparation of standard financial schedules and reports as required by the management team.

  • Organizing and maintaining comprehensive and confidential financial records and documentation.

  • Communicating effectively with internal departments (e.g., Production, HR, Stores, Purchasing, etc.) and external vendors/clients regarding payment or invoice inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., pursuing CA/CMA/ACCA) are a significant advantage.

  • Prior internship or 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is strongly preferred.

  • Solid foundational knowledge of basic accounting principles (Debit/Credit rules, double-entry system).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, other equivalent ERP systems) is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Must be willing to work onsite in Bengaluru.
