Job Summary
The Store Operator is responsible for the efficient management of inventory, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials and products. This role involves stringent record-keeping, following proper procedures during receipt and dispatch of materials, optimizing warehouse organization, and facilitating a seamless flow of goods to support production and operational needs. Operators will report to store supervisors and managers. This is an hourly full-time contract-to-potential-hire position, requiring on-site work at our Bangalore manufacturing location.
Roles & Responsibilities
Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders.
Accurately storing materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and labeling.
Picking and staging materials for production or dispatch based on requisitions.
Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
Maintaining accurate inventory records using a computerized system or manual logs.
Operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely.
Ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and security of the storage area (5s ideology).
Processing outbound shipments, including packing, labeling, and loading.
Collaborating with production and other departments to ensure timely material flow.
Reporting on inventory levels and potential shortages.
Requirements
High School GED or equivalent (Class 10, 12 etc.).
Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory management environment is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks); forklift certification is a significant plus.
Good record-keeping and basic computer skills for inventory systems.
Ability to follow established procedures for receiving, storage, and dispatch.
Must be willing to work in shifts (General/1st/2nd/3rd).
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 23 kgs.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to travel and work onsite.
