Job Summary
The Molding Operator is responsible for the precise setup, operation, and monitoring of molding machinery to produce high-quality components according to strict specifications. This role involves ensuring optimal machine performance, following work instructions & operating procedures, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining consistent product output while adhering to safety and quality protocols. Operators will work on 1-2 molding machines simultaneously while reporting to their respective production supervisor. This is an hourly full-time contract-to-potential-hire position, requiring on-site work at our Bangalore manufacturing location.
Roles & Responsibilities
Setting up molding machines, including installing molds, adjusting parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) and preparing resin(s).
Operating molding machines to produce components according to production schedules.
Monitoring machine performance, product quality, and process variables.
Inspecting molded parts for defects (e.g., flash, short shots, warpage) and taking corrective action.
Troubleshooting minor machine malfunctions and reporting major issues to maintenance.
Performing routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a tidy work area (5s ideology).
Recording production data, including output, scrap rates, and downtime.
Handling and preparing raw materials (e.g., loading resin, mixing additives).
Requirements
High School GED or equivalent (Class 10, 12 etc.).
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with molding operations.
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Ability to read and follow technical instructions and process parameters.
Basic troubleshooting skills for molding machine issues and ability to identify molding defects (excess flash, blow holes, warpage, etc).
Must be willing to work in shifts (General/1st/2nd/3rd).
Knowledge of basic safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production targets.
Must be able to lift and handle raw materials/components weighing up to 23 kgs.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Ability to travel and work onsite.
Ability to stand while performing operations for extended durations.
